Fortress nominated as a finalist for Community Involvement and Social Responsibility

Did you know Fortress sources employees locally, hiring 95% of employees from 50km radius of site vacancies.

Our nationally recognised Apprentice Program develops well rounded, skilled tradespeople, with an aim of resourcing the Australian collision repair industry into the future. Fortress has a number of relationships with local schools, attending careers days/fairs, providing onsite tours and careers information, in order to educate the next generation on the opportunities in the paint and panel industry. Fortress has specific and exclusive relationships with feeder schools, such as Busy Schools a Queensland not for profit providing alternatives to traditional schooling and MAS National – Women in Trades. Students enrol in our school based apprenticeships and have the opportunity transfer to full time on completion of Grade 12. We work closely with MTAQ who are our exclusive RTO.

Fortress is a member of the Australian Collision Industry Alliance, providing a Catalyst Fund donation and with a number of employees attending the Apprentice Focus Group. Sarah Moynihan, our Head of People Culture and Change, is also a Director of the Board and Lead for their Diversity and Inclusion working group.

Fortress supports and sponsors the Aim Foundation and is a major sponsor for their 'The GREAT Program". The Aim Foundation is a not for profit promoting positive engagement by creating a platform for youth to participate in physical activities and mental health education. The GREAT Project is a holiday program(boot camp) designed to build life skills and mental health awareness with a focus on gratitude, empathy,

achievement and teamwork.

Fortress works with Unique - Disability Support Services providing permanent employment opportunities for people with disabilities. We currently have 5 employees on a supported wage working with us via Unique, including one apprentice. We also employee another 7 people with disabilities and 3refugees in full time positions.
